From One Sentence to an Indicator on the Chart: Working with Vlevel's AI Lab

Write your trading idea in plain words. The Lab turns it into precise rules, backtests it on real data and brings it to the chart as an indicator.

Building a trading strategy usually takes three separate skills: a good idea, programming knowledge and a backtesting tool. Most traders have the first, and for the other two they either spend months or pay someone. Vlevel's AI Lab was built to close that gap.

Step one: write your idea

You don't need to know how to code. Write it the way you'd explain it to a friend, for example: "On the one-hour Bitcoin chart, buy when the 9 average crosses above the 21 and RSI is above 50. Stop at 1.5 times ATR, target at twice the risk." If something is missing, the AI will ask.

Step two: precise rules and a backtest

The AI turns your sentence into an exact specification: which indicators with which periods, entry and exit conditions, stop and target. A separate backtesting engine then runs it on real candles and returns a full report:

  • Net return, compared with buy and hold
  • Maximum drawdown, win rate and profit factor
  • Average R and Sharpe ratio
  • Every trade, monthly results and performance by weekday

Most importantly, the strategy's rules are written out in plain language, so you know exactly what was tested.

Step three: refine and repeat

Not happy with the result? Just write "give the stop a bit more room" or "only trade with the daily trend" and see the new version. This back-and-forth used to take days.

Step four: from the Lab to the chart

When you have a version you like, "Save to My indicators" sends the strategy to the live chart as an indicator. Its indicator lines are drawn on the chart, and every trade it takes appears like the long or short position tool, with target, stop and risk/reward. The conversion uses the same specification, so the marks on the chart are exactly the backtest's trades.

Each strategy's Pine Script code is available too, both to see what happens behind the scenes and to use it elsewhere if you want.

Tips for better results

  1. Start simple and add conditions one at a time.
  2. Always set a stop; a strategy without one is misleading even in a backtest.
  3. Test on several symbols and timeframes to make sure it isn't tuned to one special case.
  4. Care about drawdown as much as profit.
